I love autumn

While for some the end of the long and hot summer days means the unsettling feeling of sadness settles in, for me autumn brings happiness and comfort. This has been the case for as long as I can remember.

There’s just so much to love about this season!

The beautiful colours and the ever-changing landscape. Its the time of year when every time you look out the window the scenery seem to have shifted. Th trees seem to go through all the shades of bright green and golden yellow through to burnt orange, red and warm brown. The grass is still succulently green only it’s covered by a blanket of gold leaves.

And what is it about conkers that makes everyone feel like a child? Is it nostalgia? Or is it pure child-like happiness that makes both old and young bend down to collect and fill their pockets with the glossy brown treasures?

Sure, the summer is over, but what that means is that we all take the time to appreciate the last of the sun’s warm rays. There is almost an urgency to go out and make the most of the last of the warm days. And those long walks, oh how I love the long walks, and the crisp air, the smell of earth and asphalt after rain. It’s the perfect mix of sun and cloud and a bit of chill.

Autumn means the evenings are getting colder. The gentle breeze coming through the window at night makes you reach out to that special someone, press your body against theirs and fall back asleep in their warm embrace.

I love autumn…
